Quantum scrambling via accessible tripartite information

چکیده
Abstract Quantum information scrambling (QIS), from the perspective of quantum theory, is generally understood as local non-retrievability evolved through some dynamical process, and often quantified via entropic quantities such tripartite information. We argue that this approach comes with a number issues, in large part due to its reliance on mutual informations, which do not faithfully quantify correlations directly retrievable measurements, specific methodology used compute informations studied dynamics. show these issues can be overcome by using accessible defining corresponding ‘accessible informations’, provide explicit examples dynamics whose properties are properly standard Our results lay groundwork for more profound understanding what QIS represents, reveal promising, yet unexplored, venues further research.

Revealing Tripartite Quantum Discord with Tripartite Information Diagram
A new measure based on the tripartite information diagram is proposed for identifying quantum discord in tripartite systems. The proposed measure generalizes the mutual information underlying discord from bipartite to tripartite systems, and utilizes both one-particle and two-particle projective measurements to reveal the characteristics of the tripartite quantum discord. The feasibility of the...
متن کاملAccessible information in quantum measurement
The amount of information that can be accessed via measurement of a quantum system prepared in different states is limited by the Holevo bound. We present a simple proof of this theorem and its extension to sequential measurements based on the properties of quantum conditional and mutual entropies. The proof relies on a minimal physical model of the measurement which does not assume environment...
متن کاملAccessible information and quantum operations
It is impossible to perfectly clone an unknown quantum state using unitary evolution [1]. That non-orthogonal states can’t be distinguished is well known [2]. In [3], Mor and Terno showed that an arbitrary state cannot be disentangled, a universal disentangling machine cannot exist. It is well known that the laws of quantum mechanics allow us to do many things superior comparing with classical ...
متن کاملMeasuring the scrambling of quantum information
We provide a protocol to measure out-of-time-order correlation functions. These correlation functions are of theoretical interest for diagnosing the scrambling of quantum information in black holes and strongly interacting quantum systems generally. Measuring them requires an echo-type sequence in which the sign of a many-body Hamiltonian is reversed. We detail an implementation employing cold ...
متن کاملScrambling of Quantum Information in Quantum Many-Body Systems
We systematically investigate scrambling (or delocalizing) processes of quantum information encoded in quantum many-body systems by using numerical exact diagonalization. As a measure of scrambling, we adopt the tripartite mutual information (TMI) that becomes negative when quantum information is delocalized. We clarify that scrambling is an independent property of integrability of Hamiltonians...
